Eco Friendly Culture
Thapovanam is committed to practices, lifestyle, beliefs, and values that promote sound ecological principles, conservation, non-exploitation, and stimulate growth and development with respect for nature and long-term sustainability. We promote greenery in the form of diverse, native grasses, plants, herbs, and trees, and work to restore Allaipiddy’s coastal pristine environment of sand dunes, palmyra forests, and ground freshwater. Recent destruction of palmyra trees and sand mining have led to sea erosion and saltwater intrusion into groundwater, but through analog reforestation and Miyawaki forests, we aim to restore balance by refilling soil and sand. We also focus on protecting and nurturing animal and bird life, using organic fertilizers, and avoiding synthetic pesticides and chemicals. Waste management practices at Thapovanam include minimizing use, maximizing reuse, recycling plastics, composting organic waste, and periodically removing abundant plastic debris and pollution washing ashore. Additionally, we employ ecological control methods for pests and vectors, including mosquitoes.
